National proud! Shoeley Mego wins three gold medals in Pan American Weightlifting

Shoely Mego brings a new joy to Peruvian sport. The 55 kg category weightlifter. she managed to establish herself with three gold medals at the Pan American Championships, which takes place in Baroliche (Argentina).

The national lifted 85 kg in the snatch and 107 kilos in the clean and jerk, with which she added 192 kilos in the total to achieve the golden triplet.

In this way, the Peruvian takes a big step in her goal of qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as the contest adds points in the ranking.

“I dedicate this victory to my coach Alejandro Orozco, who accompanies me every day in training. I want to tell my colleagues that dreams do come true. This year I sang the National Anthem in a Senior Pan American. Last year I achieved a world medal and I hope that the IPD recognizes my achievements. My dreams is to have the Sports Laurels. Up Peru! ”, She mentioned after being a triple champion.

Likewise, other Peruvians also gave us joy. David Bardalez won two bronze medals in the 61 kg by lifting 150 kg clean and jerk and 271 total. While Mateo Rentería took another three bronzes in the 67 kg by lifting 116 kg in the snatch, 146 in the clean and jerk and a total of 262.
