“They have to earn a lot to be able to surpass me”: Comizzo highlights his time at University

After the defeat (1-2) of Municipal Sports vs. academic for the Opening Tournament of the League 1 2023, Angel Comizzo attended the media at a press conference where he offered his conclusions on what happened in Villa El Salvador.

“I have to highlight what this team did. Because of the intensity, the way they deal with the ball and the determination they have shown on the field. This is how this team plays and trains. That is why he has the respect of his rivals. The team is in formation, but maintains a clear identity”, said the Argentine strategist.

On the other hand, he harshly questioned Edwin Ordoñez, the main referee of the match. “He directs very badly. He is not trained for this type of encounter. And he admonishes my goalkeeper before 15 minutes in a play that has nothing to do with it”, said Ángel Comizzo.

Finally, he gave some striking statements when recalling his time at Universitario de Deportes.

“I am happy to have belonged to Universitario. I am grateful to that club because we have emerged as national champions, champions of the Apertura 2020, then we lost a national final and, also, we led the team to three Libertadores. There was no other coach who has achieved that in the last decade. They have to earn a lot to be able to beat me ”, he declared.
