The Peru League, the Zambrano and Cardozo tournament that brought together idols from Alianza, ‘U’ and Cristal

“Years ago I was talking with Zambrano and I presented the project to him. From the beginning he fell in love with the idea and told me: ‘we do it’ ”, recounted the Brazilian in an interview with the newspaper Depor. The downside was that at the time, Carlos was playing outside of Peru. The distance made it impossible for the project to be given the green light. Until this year, the ‘León’ signed for Alianza Lima, the club of his love, and they were able to make the dream come true.

“The main objective of the championship is to make anyone live the experience of a professional player,” Cardozo tells us. In that way? The participants will have complete uniforms as a gift, it will also be a tournament broadcast on YouTube, Facebook and Twitch, in addition to showing the best plays (highlights) in open signal. “To this we must add the creation of the figurines. Each player will have their figurine with a QR code. By scanning it you will be able to visualize a great play or a great goal that your team has scored. We are going to eternalize those moments ”, he added.

The Peru League currently has 60 teams, although more than a thousand teams registered through the application created, but they had to select the first ones with the aim of making the first step perfect, without errors. “For the second tournament, we will put all those registered because we are building six courts where our headquarters will be,” Cardozo says excitedly.

Although in principle the idea was to start at the beginning of this month of May, the Peru League will begin this weekend with 30 games that will be played in the Depor Plaza and Costa Verde fields, both located in the Magdalena district. A start that was preceded by a great meeting between influencers, youtubers, renowned personalities and idols from the biggest clubs in the country.

Renowned current players such as Hernán Barcos, Christian Cueva and Edison Flores, who accompanied Zambrano and Cardozo, arrived at the all-star game. There were also former players such as Reimond Manco, José Luis ‘El Puma’ Carranza, Miguel Rebosio, Luis Guadalupe, among others. They faced well-known characters from the Peruvian show business in “The Match of the Stars”.

“During the tournament I think we are going to put a hand in our pocket to give away a couple more prizes”, Carlos Zambrano promised. At the moment, the prize for the champion is ten motorcycles (one for each player).

Will Carlos Zambrano play?

Just as Ibai Llanos, one of the creators of the Kings League, has his team in the tournament; both Carlos Zambrano and Rafael Cardozo have decided to register their clubs for La Liga Peru. The tournament has no registration restrictions, only that they are of legal age.

The Alianza Lima defender’s team is called “Cantolao Callao 89″, which is probably his promotion to the Cantolao category, the cast where he made minor divisions before leaving for Germany and making a name for himself in the very complicated European soccer. For his part, Cardozo will participate with “Los Increíbles FC”.

“I am going to play for my team, obviously. But Carlos is only going to be the manager of his team because he can’t play, ”says Rafael.
