Lionel Messi and his stay in French football seems to have come to an end, after almost two years. The coach of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Cristophe Galtier, announced that the Argentine star will play for the last time at the Parc des Princes against Clermont.
Messi arrived at PSG in August 2021 after failing to reach an agreement with Barcelona and his adaptation to the French team was progressive. It was only in his second year that he managed to explode, adding brilliant numbers: 21 goals and 20 assists in 41 games, winning the Ligue 1 title. His biggest debt was not winning the UEFA Champions League.
The strategist Galtier had words of praise for the soccer player from Rosario. “I had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football. It will be Leo’s last game at the Parc des Princes against Clermont, and I hope he receives the warmest of welcomes”, he pointed out.
Lionel Messi’s last meeting with the Parisian fans will be this Saturday at 2:00 pm for the last day of Ligue 1.
