Up, Peru !: Ángelo Caro obtains the silver medal at the Junior Pan American Games in Cali

Ángelo Caro raised the name of the country after winning the silver medal in skateboarding at the I Junior Pan American Games in Cali-Valle in Colombia. The Peruvian was in second place with a score of 24.23 behind the Brazilian Lucas Rabelo (29.12).

The national skater was in fourth position until the last round, however his final trick put him on the podium. In this way, the athlete, who placed fifth in Tokyo 2020, gave Peru the first medal in this competition.

When he was about to leave for Colombia along with the other members of his delegation, Angelo expressed his desire to get a position among the first places

“I am excited about the possibility of returning with a medal to Peru, since he trained hard to improve himself. I thank the Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP), for all the support they provide to athletes, to have a good participation in international tournaments “, he mentioned.

Before the start of the competition, Renzo Manyari, president of the renewed Peruvian Olympic Committee, highlighted the importance of this competition to show the young athletes of Peru.

“This is a very important moment for the COP. You will not only represent your sports discipline in these Youth Pan American games. They will represent more than 30 million Peruvians. They will represent their country and we only demand the maximum commitment from them. Always with friendship, respect and excellence. Good luck to each one and Arriba Peru ”, mentioned.
