Zenit St. Petersburg is one of the most popular clubs in Russia and they tend to take advantage of that great impact they have to collaborate with social activities in the country. This time, the powerful institution has been supporting the local shelter ‘Friend’, which houses a large number of homeless dogs.

For a few days, the sports entity has been running a campaign on its social networks, seeking to encourage fans to adopt canines, so that they can have a second place to live. Even, the directive of the Russian box recently decided to elaborate a video, in which the footballers participated.

However, in Zenit they devised another way to find the support of their fans and the fans in general. This Friday, taking advantage of the fact that they were playing at home, at the Gazprom Arena, against Rostov for the Russian Premier League, the local players took to the field with the cubs in their arms.

In the images shared by the club itself, it can be seen how each of the eleven starters chosen by coach Sergei Semak came out of the dressing rooms carrying the dogs. The scene caused a pleasant impact among the people who were present at the sports venue.

In the same way, the publication on social networks was also disseminated by thousands of people, with which they will be able to get closer to achieving the objective that the dogs can be adopted by a family. They will surely communicate news about the campaign in the coming days, as they have done so far.

Zenit leads the Russian Premier League

On day 17 of the Russian tournament, Zenit only managed to draw a 2-2 draw against Rostov, although the result will not be detrimental for the moment: they remain in the first place of the table with 37 points. Dinamo Moscow, second in the standings, still has to play, but with a win they will only reach 35 points.
