Sergio the ‘Kun’ Agüero, announced this morning at a press conference from the Camp Nou stadium, his premature retirement from professional football, after the heart problem he suffered during the match between Barcelona and Alavés for La Liga Santander.

After this announcement, the Argentine soccer player received several messages of farewell and encouragement from his friends and football colleagues. Among them, Thibaut Courtois, the goalkeeper whom he scored for the last time in a classic between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The Belgian fired ‘Kun’ by sending him a public message through his official Twitter account. “Dear ‘Kun’, it has been a pleasure having you as a rival. I wish you the best, I send you a lot of encouragement and I keep this forever, your last goal. A hug friend, see you at Among Us! “wrote the doorman.

How many games did Sergio Agüero play in Barcelona?

The 2021-22 season of ‘Kun’ did not start in the best way, since he had physical problems in the first months. The forward only played four games for LaLiga (two from the start) and added 15 minutes in the Champions League, against Dinamo Kiev. Little by little he was making a space for himself in the team.

Let’s remember that ‘Kun’ was signed as a free agent, after ending his contract with Manchester City in mid-2021. Despite his 33 years, the Barcelona board chose to sign a bond until June 30, 2023.
