Paris FC and Lyon sanctioned and eliminated from the French Cup after incidents in the stands

The Disciplinary Commission of the French Football Federation decided to declare the match lost to Paris FC and the Lyon after the incidents that occurred during the crash corresponding to the end of the 30th French Cup December 17.

After this forceful decision by the FFF, Nice, who were waiting for the winner of that duel in the round of 16, qualify directly for the round of 16.

The two clubs are therefore eliminated from the French Cup and also received financial fines (10,000 euros / 11,320 dollars for Paris FC, 52,000 euros for Lyon).

Lyon was suspended from the French Cup in its 2022-2023 edition, although with a penalty suspension. Furthermore, the Ligue 1 club will not be able to be accompanied by their supporters in away games until the end of the season. A sanction that will also be applied in Ligue 1.

Paris FC, from Ligue 2, will have to play five games behind closed doors at their stadium.

The match between Paris FC and Lyon played at the Charléty stadium, was definitively stopped at half-time (1-1), in which so far is the last episode of violent incidents in French stadiums this season.

Various flares were launched from the area of ​​the visiting fans, and clashes between fans ensued. Two people, a fan and a policeman, were injured.
