Looking to win the Champions League, the PSG made great hires for the 2021/2022 season. Also joined by the Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, the Spanish defender Sergio Ramos and the steering wheel Georginio Wijnaldum.

The last of them came from the Liverpool. Georginio Wijnaldum ended his contract with the Anfield team and decided to reach the PSG, leaving aside Barcelona. The economic issue was an important factor in the midfielder’s decision.

Six months after his hiring (link until 2024), Wijnaldum would be one of the players to leave the Parisian team. The Dutchman does not have many minutes and with a PSG that needs to make money to comply with the financial fair play, the footballer’s departure would be materializing.

In Liverpool, Wijnaldum had more presence as a creative and off-the-ball game, however, at PSG he does not have a clear place. Sometimes he plays as a winger, helping the forwards. Because of how the team is doing, it is complicated that Mauricio Pochettino give you the position that the Dutch master.

In an October interview with ‘NOS’, Wijnaldum had already indicated that he was not comfortable: “I cannot say that I am completely happy (at PSG). Because the situation is not what I would like, but this is football and I will have to learn to deal with it. I’m a fighter. I have to be positive and work hard to turn the situation around. “.

“I have played a lot in the last years, I have always been in shape and I have done very well. This is something different and it takes time to get used to. I really wanted this new stage and, when it comes, this happens. It’s complicated”.

Newcastle would be the most interested in hiring him. The ‘Magpies’ are the new millionaires in Europe, but they will only be able to hire in January. They are in the relegation zone and the millions of euros are ready to be spent on transfers.
