LaLiga Santander is getting more complicated every day due to the new variant of the Omicron coronavirus that is generating an increase in infections in Europe. Valencia announced this Wednesday that four members of its first team have tested positive for Covid-19 in the detection tests that were carried out on the players on Tuesday after returning from the small holidays they received for Christmas.

The Spanish team carried out PCR tests not only on the players, but also on the technical staff before they return to training, which began this Wednesday, December 29.

As Efe learned from various sources, unlike what happened before the holidays when there were three technicians and the player Omar Alderete infected with coronavirus, this time the four positives are footballers who will, therefore, be low in the match of this Friday against Espanyol.

The entity pointed out that all of them are already “Isolated” and in the process of recovery. In addition to this, within the statement, the club wishes them a speedy recovery.

On the other hand, Marca newspaper reported that Marcos André and Mouctar Diakhaby were the players who were seen leaving the sports city quickly, before Valencia began training. The other two infected soccer players came out positive for coronavirus during the holidays, which is why they were not present in Paterna.

Now Bordalás will have to see how his squad is armed for the duel – the last of the year – that he will have against Espanyol this December 31 for LaLiga Santander and be waiting for there to be no more cases. It is important to specify that all Valencia staff are vaccinated.
