Nahitan Nández, a player for Cagliari and the Uruguayan national team, spoke from Italy after being denounced before the Uruguayan justice for “domestic, psychological and patrimonial violence” against his former partner. The flyer rejected the accusation and denied having fled his country to avoid being arrested.

“My departure from Uruguay was on 12/29/2021 as I had to rejoin my club in Italy on 12/31/2021. This was clearly before the complaint was filed against me ”, the attacker began by saying in a statement, by way of release.

“The denounced facts are false and have been disseminated on social networks. For this reason, a criminal complaint was filed, with evidence that demonstrates the falsity of the facts denounced, ”added Nández.

“As a father I assumed and will continue to assume all the obligations that correspond to me. With the tranquility of having acted with responsibility and respect, I will wait for the justice to investigate the veracity of the facts and, ultimately, give me reason, “said the ‘charrúa’ after being accused by his ex-partner, Sarah García, who spread chats compromising that both would have exchanged for WhatsApp.

Apart from the delicate extra-sports issue, Nández could not return to work at Cagliari after testing positive for coronavirus, although he has no symptoms and will remain isolated at home until he overcomes the disease.

This has been communicated by the Italian football club, which has recalled that Nández is regularly vaccinated and his positivity has been detected when undergoing a test upon returning from Uruguay.

“He has not come into contact with other members of the group and will now remain in isolation at home,” said Cagliari.

The Uruguayan Prosecutor’s Office has requested the arrest of the 26-year-old soccer player after he was denounced for gender violence.

The complaint for “domestic, psychological and patrimonial violence” was presented by his ex-partner, although it could not be made because Nández left the country on Thursday, so he will have to respond when he returns to Uruguay.

Nández is one of the usual starters of the Uruguayan team in which he debuted in 2015. In fact, he has already defended the ‘Celeste’ in two Copa América and in a World Cup.
