Benzema leads the first list of the year: Real Madrid’s summons for a duel with Getafe

After the false positives in their respective tests and with just one training session with the rest of the squad, Thibaut Courtois and Federico Valverde make up the Real Madrid squad for this Sunday’s clash against Getafe. The novelty is the inclusion of Dani Ceballos.

Ancelotti, on the other hand, starts the year with the losses of Brazilian Vinícius Junior and Serbian Luka Jovic due to coronavirus after their Christmas holidays. He suffers the absence due to suspension of the Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga and, due to muscular problems, of Dani Carvajal and the Welshman Gareth Bale.

Ceballos returns to a Real Madrid squad, the second after Cádiz, after overcoming his left ankle injury from a tough tackle in Spain’s debut at the Tokyo Olympics on July 22 and a recent muscle overload after rejoining to training with the group.

They remain in the squad as Rafa Marín and Peter Federico, while others who traveled to Bilbao in the last Real Madrid game in 2021 such as Miguel Gutiérrez, Antonio Blanco and Sergio Arribas fell. The Brazilian Casemiro returns after serving a penalty game and having a rest greater than the rest.

The first call of Real Madrid in 2022 is made up of:

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin and Toni Fuidias.

Defenders: Nacho, Militao, Alaba, Vallejo, Marcelo, Mendy, Rafa Marín.

Midfielders: Casemiro, Kroos, Fede Valverde, Ceballos, Lucas Vázquez, Isco and Peter.

Forwards: Marco Asensio, Rodrygo, Hazard, Benzema and Mariano.
