Dulanto’s regret for not being called up: “It saddens me not to be in the national team”

The good performances of Gustavo Dulanto with the Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova jersey in the Champions League made his name be called out for the Peruvian team. However, the defender so far has not been considered by Ricardo Gareca and expressed his regret, although he revealed that he will continue to strive to receive the call.

The tall defender had an interview with Gol Peru and first detailed that he had a conversation with a member of the technical command of the ‘Blanquirroja’ before the double day of November in the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers.

“I only had one contact with Professor Néstor Bonillo, for the date against Bolivia and Venezuela. Afterwards, I had no further contact with the national team. That time we talked and he told me they were going to send a letter, to be attentive to the list that they were going to deliver the following Friday. The communication was a week before”, Explained Gustavo Dulanto.

In the same way, the defender confessed to having done everything possible to be taken into account. “I do not know what things I am missing for a call. I do what I can on the field and my team, in all, has done well”, He commented.

“I think the issue of the national team is already very touched. I will always want to be in the national team, I always work to be in the national team. And if I’m not there, all that remains is to keep working. It saddens me not to be there, but it remains to continue training to get there”He added.

For now, Gustavo Dulanto will remain in the Sheriff’s ranks, despite the interest of three Brazilian teams. Before the fortnight of January, the former University player will be traveling to Moldova for the preseason and to prepare the duels for the Europa League against Sporting Braga: on February 17 at home and on February 24 in Portugal.

The anecdote with Modric in Real Madrid

Gustavo Dulanto was also encouraged to tell one of the experiences he had when he faced Real Madrid in the Champions League. “In the last game we had, I talked to Luka Modric before playing and told him to change shirts. After the match, he sent me the polo shirt with a prop, but as the changing rooms were very close, I realized that I was with Karim Benzema and the two distributed the shirts to all my teammates.
