A few days ago, Independiente de Avellaneda announced that Julio César Falcioni stopped being the coach of the first team. Then, the ‘Rojo’ began to quickly look for the person who would occupy said position and, according to information from ‘Olé’, Eduardo Domínguez would be the new strategist.

According to the aforementioned media outlet, the popular ‘Barba’ He would have reached — this Monday — an agreement to assume the technical direction of the ‘King of Cups’ for one year. Therefore, his main challenge in 2022 would be the Summer Tournament to be played in Argentina and he shares the same group with San Lorenzo and Talleres.

Likewise, ‘Olé’ mentioned that Eduardo Domínguez was seen with good eyes from River Plate, in case Marcelo Gallardo did not renew, and in Boca Juniors, if Sebastián Battaglia did not continue. As it is remembered, the ex-footballer won the 2021 Professional League Cup under the command of Colón.

In that sense, the Argentine media mentioned that the ‘Brujo’ would have asked the Independiente board for four things to reach an agreement: retain Sebastián Sosa, bring a midfielder that could be Rodrigo Aliendro, incorporate a striker to compete with Silvio Romero and the incorporation of a right back if Fabricio Bustos leaves.

If the news is confirmed, Domínguez would return to Independiente de Avellaneda, but this time as a coach. Between 2005 and 2006, he defended the ‘Rojo’ shirt as a footballer.
