Good news after a bad situation, since it was confirmed that Renato Tapia’s injury is not serious. RC Celta reported that the midfielder of the Peruvian National Team suffers a slight sprain of the internal lateral ligament of his left knee and that, despite everything, he could start doing group work this week.
In the statement of the Spanish club it was indicated that the results were given after an MRI and that Tapia, for the moment, continues to carry out individual training.
The first report on Renato’s status was given last Thursday after the training carried out by the squad at the Afouteza sports city. The ‘celeste’ midfielder was injured during the match against Atlético Baleareas for the Copa del Rey.
Tapia had returned to Celta as a starter, after being isolated for testing positive for coronavirus (Covid-19), however, he was substituted at half-time after receiving a blow to the knee in the last minutes of the first half.
With the report issued by Celta, it was confirmed that one of Ricardo Gareca’s main pieces may be present in the next matches of the Peruvian team for the South American Qualifiers towards the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Peru occupies fifth place in the standings, the same one that provides access to the continental playoffs. The ‘Blanquirroja’ adds a total of 17 points, the same amount as Colombia, which appears fourth for better goal difference.
