In recent days, the Argentine press reported an interest from the Manchester City by the striker Julian Alvarez, who stands out in River Plate. Rumors indicate that the transaction would be for more than 27 million euros and would be done in the middle of 2022.

However, from England, the coach of the Manchester City, Joseph Guardiola, denied knowing anything about a negotiation for the Argentine attacker: “I have no information about the club, nothing. Not a word. I know nothing. I don’t have any information.”

The statements were after Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Southampton, for the Premier League. The meeting ended with the streak of 12 consecutive wins of the ‘Citizens’.

In 2021, Julián Álvarez was chosen as the best player in America, and due to his characteristics, he fits the profile that Josep Guardiola is looking for. Álvarez is a center forward with a lot of mobility throughout the area, something important in the Spanish coach’s scheme.

With a River Plate shirt, Julián Álvarez has played 42 games and has scored 23 goals, 20 of those goals were made in 2021. He has played in the ‘Millionaire’ team since the 2018/2019 season.
