He does not want to go through the operating room again. Ansu Fati will follow a “conservative treatment” to recover from the injury to the proximal tendon of the femoral biceps of the left thigh, Barcelona reported in a statement on Tuesday.

The club’s medical services and the player met to decide the steps to follow in the recovery process. The Blaugrana striker will not be operated on, despite the fact that it was one of the options being considered within the entity.

In the statement, the club did not disclose the time off for the injury, what it did specify is that his “evolution will mark availability” with a view to the future. However, according to the Spanish press, the 19-year-old footballer could be out for between six and eight weeks.

Ansu Fati was injured, again, in the match of the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey against Athletic Club, in San Mamés (3-2). It should be noted that it was the second game he had played since he was discharged from the ailment in the same muscle that he suffered on November 6 against Celta.

It’s not the first time. In 2017, the Barça player Ousmane Dembélé suffered the same injury as Fati and decided to undergo surgery in Finland by doctor Sakari Orava.

Ansu suffered a serious injury to the internal meniscus of his left knee in November 2020, for which he underwent surgery on several occasions and forced him to be off the field of play for ten months.
