Fans of black, red or green runs are already sorry not to be able to ski down them at the end of the year. The government has confirmed that the ski lifts in French ski areas will not be able to operate (with exceptions) at Christmas. A blow knowing that the Hexagon has 4 of the 5 most frequented ski areas in the world. But if their peaks are so popular, the French are not the most keen on this activity.
According to the international report on snow and mountain tourism for 2020, the Swiss are the greatest practitioners, with 35% of the population used to white slopes. They are followed very closely by their Austrian neighbors (34%). A podium completed by Finland (23%). And France is not even in the Top 10.
