Google has announced the discontinuation of Duplex, its Artificial intelligence (AI) in charge of solving tasks related to different types of reservations, including restaurants, hairdressers or vacations.
The technology company presented this feature in May 2018, when it announced that it would be integrated into its Google Assistant virtual assistant and that it was based on a technology able to replicate natural language in telephone conversations.

On the Google support page, the manufacturer indicates that Duplez on the web is deprecated and will no longer be supported “from December 2022”so that automation features enabled by Duplex are no longer supported.
As the company has pointed out, in statements collected by TechCrunch, at the end of this year it will center “in making advances in artificial intelligence in duplex voice technology”.
In this sense, this medium has recalled that, according to a recently published The Information report, Google plans to invest a smaller amount in the development of the Google Assistant for devices that are not of its own manufacture.
