CES 2023: Panasonic’s new OLED TVs have brighter, better sound

Panasonic has introduced its new range of OLED TVs for 2023 that improve brightness thanks to a series of adjustments and a next-generation panel, and has accompanied this announcement with two new mirrorless cameras and a macro-capable lens for close-ups.

The company has reaffirmed within the framework of the fair CES 2023 its commitment to innovation in the television segment, one of the key businesses in the consumer electronics market. This innovation translates into 2023 TVs in a brightness upgrade.

This improves the flagship of Panasonic’s flagship model OLED MZ2000and is the result of a new last generation panel (Micro Lens Array)a multilayer heat management system and a series of improvements in image processing.

The result is a increased maximum brightness of approximately 150%, and an average brightness also optimized compared to last year’s models, as the company has pointed out. It also offers improvements in contrast and color accuracy.

This television will be available in sizes of 55, 65 and 77 inches, and is compatible for use with games, as it has an HDMI 2.1 port, offers 4K and a refresh rate of up to 120, and features such as the ability to lower Input Lag, VRR and AMD Freesync Premium.

The MZ2000 incorporates the improved Filmmaker mode, which ensures that users can enjoy audiovisual content just as the creator intended. It also improves video streaming with the algorithm Streaming 4K Remaster.

The company has also improved the sound of these new televisions. has implemented the Bass Booster algorithm, delivering deep, responsive bass, and Technics-tuned speakers deliver up, side and front projection for an immersive Dolby Atmos sound experience.

Panasonic has accompanied this new television with a redesign of its user interface My Home Screen 8.0, which introduces improvements to accessibility features and the ‘myScenery’ feature.

The company has also presented at CES two mirrorless cameras from the Lumix S series: Lumix S5II and S5IIX, both L-mount, and based on a full-frame CMOS sensor of 24 megapixels and 35mm newly developed and on a new image processor.

The sensor supports hybrid phase detection autofocus, a first for Lumix cameras, as Panasonic has highlighted, while the new processor improves image quality and high-bit-rate video performance. Also They have an improved image stabilization and connectivity system.

And along with the cameras, Panasonic has unveiled the Lumix S 14-28mm F4-5.6 MACRO lens, that has a zoom range adaptable to any situation and introduces a macro capability for close-ups, both for video and photos, from 0.25x (at 14mm) to 0.5x (at 28mm).
