The estimate is that the attacks meant global costs of 8.44 trillion dollars and the figure will climb to 23.8 trillion dollars in 2027, that is, in four more years.

For this reason, during the Annual Meeting of the WEF or World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland —which takes place from January 16 to 20— said body launched the initiative to create the Cybercrime Atlas in which global companies, government agencies and organizations participate. cyber researchers to fight against cyber threats.

What is the Atlas about?

The objective of the atlas will be to map the cybercrime landscape, covering criminal operations, structures and networks, which will be done with the support of Fortinet, Microsoft, PayPal and Santander.

WEF Head of Urban Transformation Jeff Merritt said that “In times when the global economy is fragile, we have the tools we need to reduce at least one of the biggest threats to the economy: cyberattacks.”.
