Android: Vivaldi browser lets you play YouTube audio in the background

Vivaldi, the browser founded by the former CEO of Opera, Jon Stephenson, already has a new update for Android which allows you to play YouTube audio in the background while checking other tabs.

This update, 5.7, has a series of performance-enhancing featureswhich will allow users to save “seconds or even minutes even with thousands of open tabs”.

One of the innovations implemented in this new version of Vivaldi is the ability to play youtube audio while browsing without the need to use a premium account of this Google service.

To activate this functionality, it will only be necessary to go to the Configuration menu and click on the tab ‘Allow background audio playback’. In case of changing the application without having it activated, the video will pause.

With the new Vivaldi update you can also disable the automatic playback of videos, generally related to ads. This feature is implemented by default in the browser.

On the other hand, the company has commented that the browser now offers a higher speed in its openingregardless of the number of tabs that are open while browsing.

Likewise, it has advanced that the Vivaldi 5.7 update introduces a new UI optimized for tablets, Chromebooks or car screens, an interface that offers “a flexible design with a distinctive side panel” to make the most of panel space.
