BBC advises staff to remove TikTok from their work phones

TikTok It is still in everyone’s eyes. And it is that the BBC has asked all its staff to remove the Chinese social network from their corporate phones due to a fear “of privacy and security.”

In this way, the public radio and television service becomes the first British institution to take this radical measure, amid rumors against TikTok for possible espionage by the Chinese communist regime.

However, the BBC has indicated that it would continue “using the platform for editorial and marketing purposes for the time being,” says the El Español page. In other words, as an institution it will continue to be present on the social network, which is used by millions of people around the world.

According to the company, “the big fear is that the data collected by the platform from corporate phones could be shared with the Chinese government by TikTok’s parent company, ByteDynce, because it is based in Beijing.”

Now, the company has denied all the allegations, calling them “fundamental misconceptions.” However, an investigation at the end of 2022 revealed that ByteDance employees would have used their positions to spy on journalists’ personal data.
