WhatsApp: edit and add text to your forwarded files in the beta version of the app

WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature in the latest Android beta that allows users to modify or add text to images, videos, and GIFs when they’re forwarded from one contact to another, preventing them from being shared with the same description they were received with .

Currently, the messaging platform allows you to forward a file to another contact using a shortcut located at the top of the interface, where an arrow is presented.

Once this button is pressed, a screen opens indicating ‘Forward to…’ with the options to do so in the States -which have a duration of 24 hours-, the contacts to which images and videos are sent most frequently or the most recent chats that have been registered on the platform.

The platform is now working on an option that will allow you to modify the description or add text in the files that are forwarded, as WABetaInfo has warned in the latest beta version for Android 2.23.8.22, launched through the Google Play Beta Program.

This portal has verified that the instant messaging platform is displaying an option that displays a text box with the indicator ‘Add a message…’ to adapt the content that is forwarded in the event that the text does not correctly describe the image or you want to enter a new one.
