WhatsApp has begun to implement the redesign of its interface for Android in its beta version, with new features such as changing the position of the navigation bar, which is now located at the bottom of the screen.
The instant messaging platform has been working for the last month on a redesign of its interface in the application for Android devices, including some changes that make it more similar to the version of the app for iOS.

In this sense, WhatsApp has already begun to introduce changes to the new interface design in the latest update of the beta version of the Android app (v2.23.10.6), to which some tester users have already had access, as WABetaInfo has been able to verify.
Thus, as they have detailed, one of the most obvious innovations is the change in the location of the app’s navigation bar. Currently, the navigation bar to access the different tabs and functions of WhatsApp on Android is located at the top of the screen.

In the new design, this navigation bar, which includes the ‘Chats’, ‘Communities’, ‘States’ and ‘Calls’ tabs, has been placed at the bottom of the interface. Thus, users must switch between the different tabs from the bottom, thus facilitating their access. This feature is the same in the iOS version.
As WABetaInfo explains, this change comes from requests made by Android users, who demanded access to the different tabs of the app from the bottom area of the device.

Also, tabs are buttons, i.e. no longer allows switching from one tab to another with the gesture of sliding your finger to one side or the other of the screenbut it is changed by clicking on its icons.
As for the upper part of the screen, the camera icon is maintained to take photos, the magnifying glass icon to search for chats and the icon of the three points to access the settings menu in the upper right corner.
