According to Luo Lin, an expert at Tencent, the company will use real-time rendering techniques and high-fidelity 3D simulation to create a panda bear that lives in the metaverse, where it can interact in a “hyper-realistic” habitat with people by using of artificial intelligence.

Details of bones, muscles, skin, fur, and facial features will be recreated with pinpoint precision, and audiences will be able to use their mobile phones to immerse themselves in the panda habitat and learn about the life habits of giant pandas.Luo assured.

The Asian country has already used this type of technology in other projects for the conservation and dissemination of its biodiversity, as in the case of the national reserve of tigers and leopards, which can now be visited virtually via telephone.

It has also used artificial intelligence to identify and analyze snow leopard tracks from 100,000 photographs taken every three months in the national parks where this species lives, which has enabled specialized protection measures to be improved.
