After being forced to withdraw all of its “Monsieur Cuisine Connect” robots from sale in stores located in Spain in January 2021, Lidl finally won the legal battle between it and Vorwerk, reports an article bythe country spotted by Capital. This company which created the famous Thermomix had filed a complaint against the German retail group.
A device much cheaper than a Thermomix
Initially, the Spanish justice had agreed with Vorwerk by ordering Lidl to withdraw its robots from sale due to a patent violation. But the hard-discount brand has decided to appeal this decision. And the Spanish Court of Justice ruled on January 13 that the patent on which the complaint was based and which Lidl was accused of having “copied” was void because it “does not claim any new solution in relation to the security system” already existing.
As a reminder, Lidl’s “Monsieur Cuisine Connect” is a device that is generally sold at a price of 329 euros, or even 279 euros during certain operations. Far from the 1,300 euros of a Thermomix. With each new sale of the Lidl robot, the crowd gathers in front of the stores to try to get their hands on one of these inexpensive devices allowing you to make many recipes of all kinds.
