In order to more easily respect the physical distancing necessary to decrease the circulation of the coronavirus, the airline Eurowings lowered the reservation price of an empty seat next to that of the passenger. Formerly 18 euros, the cost is since Friday March 12 of only 10 euros, according to information from the Air Journal site taken over by Capital.
This option is available even after purchasing the ticket. “Later via the call center or directly at the airport counter before departure,” says Eurowings. The company boasts of great adaptability in view of the situation, with for example reservation changes possible up to 40 minutes before departure.
In a statement, Jens Bischof, CEO of the company, said that Eurowings welcomes “millions of anxious customers who now attach particular importance to a little more space on board in flight”. Something to satisfy fans of social distancing, space for their luggage, or misanthropes.
