“Come get them, I don’t want them anymore”: woman kills her 3 and 5-year-old children and calls the police

A 41-year-old woman arrested on charges of first-degree murder after confessing to the death of her two children, ages 5 and 3, who were found tied up inside the house, appeared Wednesday in a court in Miami (Florida, United States), where a judge ordered him to remain in jail without bail.

Odette Lysse Joassaint faces two counts of first degree murderas formally presented by a court in this city in southeastern Florida.

Police officers arrived Tuesday night at an apartment in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami after the “desperate” call to the emergency number 911 by Joassaint.

“Come get them, I don’t want them anymore”, the mother, who appeared to be furious and in the midst of a mental breakdown, according to police, told officers.

Once inside the house, the agents found the minors lifeless, tied to the bed face down. The paramedics who came to the scene could not do anything to save the lives of minors.

During the interrogation, the woman confessed to police officers that she tied the minors by the arms, legs and neck, and then used a red ribbon to strangle them.

Joassaint said her children, Laural Belval, 5, and Jeffrey Belval, 3, “were suffering and would suffer less if they were dead.””, according to the police report.

The woman was taken to a local hospital and later arrested and charged with first-degree murder, for which she remains in a Miami-Dade County jail.

In front of the house, where he was with photos of his children, the father of the victims, Frantzy Belvaltold local media that joassaintfrom which he had separated, she was a mentally unstable woman and was experiencing financial difficulties.

According to the Miami Herald newspaper, the couple has a history of mutual domestic violence dating back to 2017, when Joassaint was arrested for biting Belval in one arm in the middle of an argument over money.

Two years later, the father was arrested for assaulting the womanwho was then pregnant with her youngest child, although she refused to give her testimony to the agents.
