8-year-old boy arrested for stealing French fries in the United States | VIDEO

Police in Syracuse, in the state of New Yorkfinds himself in the eye of the storm after arresting an 8-year-old black boy who had allegedly just stolen a bag of chips, in a videotaped scene that went viral.

The video, recorded by a bystander and viewed more than 5 million times, shows an officer holding the boy’s arms from behind.

“What are they doing?”, asks the author of the video, Kenneth Jackson, to the agent who takes him prisoner. “Looks like a baby!”

“Guess, guess what I’m doing”responds the policeman.

As another agent explains in the video, the boy was “stealing things”.

“By stealing a bag of chips, are you being treated like a thief – a murderer?”snaps the passerby who proposed to pay for the bag of chips, but the argument did not convince the policemen who took the minor with them.

the police of Syracuse released a statement Tuesday saying that the boy was not handcuffed and was simply placed in the back of a police car that took him home.

“Officers met with the boy’s father and no charges were filed.”assures the bulletin.
