On this Wednesday of deconfinement, what better way than to imagine getting into a wagon to travel the world? And even if you have to take the train, you might as well not be bothered with cascading changes. But in this little game of the longest direct rail line in the world, who is the winner?

As this article from The Telegraph shows, you have to head east to find the champion in this area: the legendary Trans-Siberian and its more than 9,000 kilometers swallowed up. Far behind but silver medal in this length competition, we find the Toronto-Vancouver, in Canada, and the Shanghai-Lhasa, from China to Tibet (officially China). Others will prefer India, Eastern Europe or Australia to see the kilometers go by from the window, as shown in this infographic from our partner, Statista:
