The White House said in a statement that The call served to “underline” that the United States considers Guaidó as the interim president of the country since 2019 and that the 2015 National Assembly was the last democratically elected body.
Also, Biden expressed “his support for the negotiations” between the Maduro government and the opposition Unitary Platform “as the best path for a peaceful restoration” of free elections and fundamental freedoms in the country.
and reiterated that USA is willing to “shade its policy of sanctions” towards Venezuela as progress is made in the dialogue process between the Maduro government and the opposition.
