Republicans criticize Democratic “circus” on the assault on Capitol Hill

The committee investigating the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021 will reveal some of its findings this Thursday in a hearing that will focus on former US President Donald Trump (2017-2021) and the role they played in the attack. attack extremist groups, such as the Proud Boys.

The committee, which has interviewed more than a thousand witnesses and reviewed more than 140,000 documents, will show unpublished graphic material and will try to tell the public in an attractive way what were the events that led to the storming of the Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters.

The committee hearing will be at 8:00 p.m. local time (00:00 GMT on Friday) and will be broadcast live on all US networks with the exception of the conservative Fox.

The committee investigating the assault on the Capitol was created in July 2021 by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, and is made up of a majority of Democratic congressmen, although there are two Republican members -Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger- who are at odds with Trump.

In the assault on the Capitol, five people died and about 140 agents were attacked.
