During the next few hours, the SMN forecasts that the cloud bands of Blas will cause “torrential rains”, from 150 to 250 millimeters, in Guerrero and Oaxaca.

He also predicted “very heavy” rains, from 50 to 75 millimeters, in Colima and Michoacán, and a greater probability of “heavy” rains in the center of the country.

Likewise, the agency warned of winds with gusts of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour and waves of 1 to 3 meters high on the coasts of Guerrero, Michoacán and Oaxaca.

“The rainfall generated by Blas could increase the level of rivers and streams, and cause overflows, landslides and floods in low-lying areas, for which the population is urged to heed the warnings,” the SMN warned.

And he urged maritime navigation in the vicinity “to take extreme precautions due to winds and waves off the coasts of the mentioned states.”

Blas comes after Agatha, the first cyclone of the 2022 Pacific season, which impacted on May 30 as a category 2 hurricane on the coast of the state of Oaxaca (south), one of the poorest areas of the country, where it caused 9 deaths. and several disappeared.
