The clash of two brilliant minds
The world chess champion, the Soviet Boris Spasskyand the applicant, the American Robert ‘Bobby’ Fischerbegan the dispute for the top crown of ‘science sport’ in ‘neutral’ territory: Iceland. village eve
“At 8:25 p.m. yesterday, the wife of the president of Argentina, Mrs. Eva Peron”, headlined El Comercio to report on the death of the social and political leader, which occurred on July 26, 1952. Her public activity began in the world of acting, in theater and radio theater, to later take a complete turn when she met and married Juan Domingo Peron, who added her to his political project. Already in power, from the Ministry of Labor, she directed her philanthropic and social works, earning the nickname of ‘Spiritual Chief of the Nation’. Her health was devastated by uterine cancer, for which she underwent surgery in 1951. Radiotherapy sessions failed to reverse the progress of her illness and she, after falling into a coma, died.
A Ford that never goes out of style
If we were to say that Han Solo was born on July 13, 1942 we would not be so far from the truth. One of the characters of the seventh art that maintains the most admirers and followers to this day is the space warrior friend of Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca’s inseparable partner. Harrison Ford, his alter ego, celebrates 80 years of successful life on the big screen, where he has also left his mark with films like ‘Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark‘, ‘Blade runner’ and ‘The fugitive’, among others.
