According to the Anza (Agenzia nazionale stampa associata, the main Italian press agenda), the events took place during a student evening at the Yachting Club in San Vito, Taranto, Puglia. About 300 people were then present.
The shooting allegedly broke out because of a dispute between two gangs of young people from different neighborhoods. One of the youths reportedly opened fire with a 9mm pistol. The victims, aged between 20 and 28, were shot in the legs, or injured in the stampede that followed. But none are in serious condition. Also according to Anza, one person was arrested.
