Turkey asked on Tuesday that the agreement that allows cereals to be exported from Ukrainian ports be kept out of the conflict over the Russian invasion of Ukraine due to its importance for world food security.

“The grain export deal has gone a long way in alleviating the global food crisis, as almost 10 million tonnes of grain has been shipped to those in need, and has shown that ‘cooperation and dialogue’ solve problems ”, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar stated.

The total of grain exported from the three Ukrainian ports provided for in the agreement, Odessa, Chornomorsk and Yuzhni, today reaches 9.7 million tons, reports the JCC.
