Being the head of government of a country is not an easy job. Travel, responsibilities and stress are some of the problems that come with being the president of Colombia. This is why it is common to see presidents with very different aspects to how they arrived at their position.
Colombia has not been the exception and some of the former presidents look different. The change has not gone unnoticed by citizens who see a new person arrive every four years.

Ivan Duke (2018 to 2022)
Iván Duque became president in 2018 at the hands of the Democratic Center. The Bogota native was 41 years old when he took office as president with the largest vote in the country’s history.
Juan Manuel Santos (2010 to 2018)
Juan Manuel Santos was president for two terms. He reached the peace agreement with the FARC in 2016 and won the Nobel Peace Prize.
Alvaro Uribe Velez (2002 to 2010)
Álvaro Uribe Vélez became president of the country in 2002. He became the first candidate to be elected in the first round elections and in 2006 he repeated as president.
Andres Pastrana (1998 to 2002)
Andrés Pastrana became president in 2002, after following in the footsteps of his father Misael Pastrana. His government was recognized for attempts at dialogue with guerrilla groups.
