A Chinese intelligence agent was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison in USA for attempting to steal technology from US and French aerospace companies, the Justice Department announced.

Arrested in Belgium in 2018, he probably traveled to that European country as part of a counterintelligence operation, thinking of meeting with a General Electric employee, before being extradited to the United States the same year.
“Xu targeted US airlines, recruited employees to fly to China, and solicited the proprietary information they had, all on behalf of the PRC government.”the Justice Department said in a press release.
