about 600 Venezuelans who remained in a camp on the edge of the Rio Grande, in the Mexican Juarez City (north), they crossed the border with USA to request asylum, after a judge in that country lifted a restriction migratoryauthorities reported this Thursday.
The Venezuelans left the tents they had occupied since the end of October on Wednesday and crossed the river “to turn himself in to the border patrol” the United States, reported the government of Ciudad Juárez in a statement, which it estimated “more than 600” the number of migrants.

“They turn themselves in to ask for asylum”Santiago González, director of a public shelter in that city, told AFP on Thursday.
The departure of the Venezuelans was registered after last Tuesday the US judge Emmet Sullivan ruled that the Title 42applied by the Donald Trump government as an anti-covid measure, was used against migrants in an “arbitrary and capricious” way to block their asylum applications.
At the request of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the same judge later granted five weeks to the government of Joe Biden in order to prepare for a feared avalanche of migrants, the vast majority of whom are Latin Americans.
Tuesday’s sentence will take effect on December 21 at midnight.
From January to September 22, US border authorities have intercepted 2.3 million migrants.

In October alone there were 185,527 people intercepted along the border with Mexico, an increase of 1.5% in one month, according to the Office of Customs and Border Protection (CBP, for its acronym in English). The vast majority were turned away under Title 42.
The number of Venezuelans, Cubans or Nicaraguans trying to cross the land border has increased by 149% compared to October 2021, while that of those from Mexico and northern Central America has dropped 12% since that date, according to official data.
On October 12, the governments of Washington and Mexico announced an agreement that authorizes 24,000 Venezuelans to enter USA through a formal request and by air, while those who cross the border illegally will be returned to Mexican territory.
