Adoptive parents are arrested and accused of killing their 7-year-old son whose body was in a washing machine

A couple from Texas USAwas arrested for the alleged murder of her 7-year-old adoptive son, who was found dead four months ago inside a washing machine, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

According to NBC News, the couple was identified as jemaine thomas42 years old, and Tiffany Thomasof 35. The first is accused of murder with possible punishment of the death penalty and the second of injuring a minor by omission.

On July 28, the police found the lifeless body of troy koehler inside a washing machine at his home in Spring, north of Houston. The boy had been reported missing hours earlier, NBC News reported.

Sheriff Ed González informed in his account of Twitter that the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences autopsy ruled the death a homicide and that the child had “new and previous injuries”.

According to local NBC News affiliate KPRC, court documents indicate that Child suffered suffocation, blunt force trauma, and possible drowningas well as multiple bruises on the body and injuries to the face.

KPRC adds that authorities also found blood in the washing machine and in other parts of the house.

When police arrived at the home around 5:20 a.m., the parents told them their son had been missing for more than an hour, according to KPRC. But the authorities found it minutes later in the washing machine that was in the garage.

NBC News cited court documents indicating that the parents were upset with the child because he had eaten a Tiffany’s porridgeand they threatened to put him in the oven until he confessed. They also blamed him for having eaten some Jemaine brand donuts.

Text messages included in court documents obtained by KPRC show that after learning the boy ate the donuts, Jermaine wrote: “Needed [candados]. I’m going to end up killing him.”

KPRC indicated that the minor was adopted by the couple in 2019.
