An earthquake of magnitude 7, initially calibrated at 7.3, affected Tuesday Solomon Islandsaccording to the United States Geological Survey, and caused the activation of a tsunami warning by the Pacific Warning Center.
The earthquake caused a strong jolt in the capital of the archipelago, Honiara. “It was a big one (…) Some things in the hotel fell. Everything seems fine, but there was panic.”Joy Nisha, a receptionist at the Heritage Park Hotel in Honiara, told AFP.
