The new torture center allegedly used by the Russians was located in Strilkove, a town in the Kherson region, in the south of the country, which has been partially liberated by Ukrainian soldiers.
“Russian occupation forces set up a torture chamber on the grounds of a recreation center in the village of Strilkove, in the Henichesk district of the Kherson region,” assured the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on his Facebook account.
in that center “they detained and tortured Ukrainian citizens, in violation of the norms of international humanitarian law and the laws and customs of war”specified the military command.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office already reported on Monday the discovery of torture chambers in four buildings in the recently liberated city of Kherson, the regional capital.

“Prosecutors from the Kherson Region Prosecutor’s Office, together with police officers and experts, carried out inspections in four premises where the occupiers illegally detained people and brutally tortured them during the takeover of the city,” said that institution on Facebook, quoted by the Ukrinform agency.
According to the investigation, during the occupation of Kherson, Russian soldiers and representatives of the Russian special services establishedn “pseudo law enforcement agencies” in the seized buildings of the Kherson temporary detention center, the remand center and in one of the departments of the district police.
This is demonstrated by the documents found, among them the so-called certificates of representatives of the occupation police, service hours and notes such as “service unit”, “investigative office” and “criminal investigation”.
Parts of rubber batons, a wooden bat, a device used by the occupants to torture civilians with electric shocks, an incandescent lamp and bullets in the walls were seized, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
Various methods of torture and physical and psychological violence against people were used in the cells and basements, the statement added.
In one of the office buildings where the Russian troops also set up a torture chamber, the agents found a part of a metal tube and handcuffs, among other things.
