Defense Minister german, christine lambrechtreiterated its intention to deliver a Patriot air defense missile system to Poland and not to Ukraine as proposed by the Polish Government.
Lambrecht pointed out in Berlin that the Patriots are part of NATO’s integrated defense system and as such should be deployed in NATO countries.

“In the event that they were to deploy outside of NATO, it would be necessary to consult with all the allies,” Lambrecht said after a meeting with his Estonian counterpart, Hanno Pevkur.
The German government had offered support to Poland in view of its particularly exposed situation in the midst of the war in Ukraine, and Lambrecht agreed with Polish defense minister Mariusz Blaszczak to jointly defend Polish airspace.
For this, Poland would receive Patriots missiles as well as the support of the German Air Force.

The offer came after a missile – probably Ukrainian – fell on Polish territory.
On the Polish side, however, it has been stated that for Poland’s security it would be better if the Patriots were handed over to Ukraine.
