Zelensky claims that more than 1,300 Ukrainian prisoners have been released by the Russians in the war

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyhas assured this Thursday that during the war more than 1,300 Ukrainian prisoners have been released by the Russians.

The Ukrainian president has announced this figure during his usual night speech when referring to the release of another 50 soldiers imprisoned by Russia.

These are four officers and 46 sergeants and privates from the Army, territorial defense, national guards, Navy and border guards, has detailed Zelensky.

“In total, since February 24, more than 1,300 Ukrainians have already been returned from Russian captivity. We’ll bring the rest! All Ukraine will be free. All Ukrainians will be at home,” said the President of Ukraine.

Russia and Ukraine exchanged 50 prisoners of war from each side on Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry and the Ukrainian Presidential Office respectively reported.

“As a result of the negotiation process, 50 Russian servicemen who were in danger of dying in captivity were returned from kyiv-controlled territory,” pointed out from the department headed by Sergei Shoigu.
