The far-right leader greeted those present, but remained silent, while a collaborator of his, the priest Genésio Ramos, gave a fiery speech against Lula next to him, which was repeated word for word by the hundreds present.

The priest Ramos called Lula “rogue bandit” and he harshly criticized the 14-year government of Lula and his successor and partner in the Workers’ Party (PT), Dilma Rousseff.

“God bless the Brazilian people, who for 14 years have been robbed, raped by a criminal organization. That’s what I say, Father Genésio. The speech is entirely mine”, said the priest and hundreds of people instantly repeated in chorus, who even said the clarification that the speech was in a personal capacity.

This is Bolsonaro’s third meeting with the followers who are permanently in front of the gardens of the Alvorada palace, since last Friday.

Bolsonaro remained in total silence and with almost no official commitments for nearly 40 days, since his defeat in the second round of the presidential elections, on October 30, but last Friday he resumed his political activities.

Lula received this Monday the diploma that accredits him as president-elect, a procedure prior to the inauguration that is scheduled for January 1.

The far-right leader has yet to publicly acknowledge his defeat or congratulate Lula, but he has allowed the transition process to begin.
