Sam Bankman-Fried Arrives In US Extradited From Bahamas After FTX Collapse

The federal prosecutors of NY then announced that They accused the businessman of an indictment of eight counts, including conspiracy, wire fraud, money laundering and violations of the electoral financing law.

Five of the eight crimes charged to Bankman-Fried carry a maximum of 20 years in prison each.

Bankman-Fried he was gracing the covers of finance and technology magazines and receiving huge investments from major shareholders and fund managers.

He also rubbed shoulders with politicians, becoming a spokesman for the industry on regulatory issues in Washington and contributing tens of millions of dollars to Republican and Democratic campaigns.

But everything imploded in November when an article indicated that Alameda’s balance sheets were supported mainly by a cryptocurrency created by FTXwhich had no independent value.
