The State Department of USA approved on Wednesday the sale to taiwan anti-tank systems worth $180 million, the Pentagon reported.
These are ammunition launch systems antitank Volcano, cargo trucks, ammunition, logistics support packages and other related services, according to a Pentagon statement.

“This proposed sale serves the national, economic, and security interests of USA supporting the recipient’s continued efforts to modernize its military and maintain a credible defensive capability,” the statement said.
The government of China considers taiwanwhich has a democratic government, as part of its territory, and has become more aggressive towards the island under the presidency of Xi Jinping.
Beijing this year protested visits by US politicians and other countries to taiwan. In August she organized military exercises to protest against the trip of the speaker of the House of Representatives from USANancy Pelosi.
