Southwest airline promises the regularization of flights in the US for this Friday

The airline southwestwhich canceled more than 15,000 flights in eight days causing chaos at airports in USApromised that its operations would gradually return to normal on Friday.

The disturbances began with the historic snowstorm that hit the country hard just before Christmas, affecting all air transport companies.

But air traffic largely resumed its course Tuesday, except for Southwest. According to the FlightAware site, 57% of the company’s flights were canceled this Thursday.

Company unions blamed Southwest’s outdated computer systems, particularly those that handle baggage handling. The company’s particularly sparse network, when other carriers are concentrated in one or several key airports, also affected its performance.

Southwest opened a page on its website so that customers can submit their requests for reimbursement for the expenses of meals, hotels and other means of transportation used, as well as to recover their luggage.
