Russia: Alexei Navalny Spent New Year’s Eve in ShIZO for Taking a Shower Too Early

He prefers to laugh (yellow). Russia’s opponent Alexei Navalny, who spent almost two years in Russia, said he spent the New Year in a punishment cell, which is another example of the tightening of his conditions. In a message sent to his lawyers and posted on social media on Monday, Alexei Navalny claims that the administration of his colony, 200 kilometers from Moscow, decided on December 31 to sentence him to 15 days in “mitard” for violating the order.

According to him, he was accused of having once made a morning toilet at “5:24”, that is, 36 minutes before the main time, 6:00. “And that’s how they ruined my plans to spend a great New Year with a bag of chips and a can of saury (fish from Japan), which I put aside,” Alexei Navalny ironically.

He says he slept with two other prisoners throughout New Year’s Eve, including a “psychotic” who “shouted.” “In general, I am satisfied. People pay to spend the original New Year, for me it was free,” he said in his usual joking tone.

Pet peeve of Vladimir Putin

He also mentioned one of his regular inmates in recent months who has hygiene problems and appears to be “homeless”. “You should call him a tractor driver now, because I washed him well, and this is his profession,” says Navalny. The administration forced this prisoner to walk back and forth between his cell and the infirmary, which was hit by an influenza epidemic. “Looks like they’re using him as a bacteriological weapon, no wonder he’s depressed,” he continues before ending with “Happy New Year, good health!” »

Alexei Navalny, a favorite of Vladimir Putin, was arrested in Russia in January 2021 upon his return to the country after a serious poisoning he attributes to the Kremlin.

In March last year, he was sentenced to nine years in prison with a “strict” regime on charges of “fraud”, which he considers to be fabricated. In October, he announced that he was facing new charges that could carry up to 30 years in prison.
